Carbon Zero Exchange

As part of MHF’s promise to help put into action what was discussed at COP26 in Glasglow in 2021, countries agreed to work to limit temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius. This lower temperature threshold carries even more weight than it did in the Paris Agreement. The main goal was to achieve global net zero emissions by the middle of the century while keeping warming to no more than 1.5 degrees Celsius.

Malaysian Humanitarian Foundation (MHF) collaborates with the Sanitation and Water for All organisation in Malaysia.

MHF also supports World Water Day (WWD), which is held in March of each year.

The following are the key themes of COP26:-

  1. Expanding greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction targets;
  2. Financing the energy transition of the poorest countries or states;
  3. Reducing methane emissions (agreement made at COP26 includes countries around the world committing to end and reverse deforestation, as well as cutting methane emissions by 30% by 2030); and
  4. Organising the carbon market, which may include carbon exchanges.

MHF and its open-minded partners, which can include governments, NGOs, corporates, SMEs, and individuals, will make it possible to focus on things like planting trees, culture, water, jobs, businesses, sustainability, and habitats, among other things.

Doing so with focus, togetherness, commitment, governance, trust, and openness will be a significant step forward for everyone and will increase the chances of success for this seemingly impossible task.
